Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Skill Maps, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the revised Terms.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

You must provide accurate registration information and keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

You must be able to enter into a binding agreement under applicable law. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

3. The Service

Skill Maps provides educational content and tools across design, development, marketing, and related topics. Features may include roadmaps, lessons, quizzes, interactive practice, progress tracking, and community-related access as described on the site.

We may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service (including courses, features, or pricing) with reasonable notice when practicable. We do not guarantee that any particular course or feature will remain available indefinitely.

4. Free and Paid Plans

Starter (free) access may include limited content such as the first module of each course and basic quizzes, as described on the Pricing page.

Pro subscriptions unlock additional courses, modules, and features according to the plan shown at checkout. Prices are displayed in euros (€) unless otherwise stated. Taxes may apply depending on your location.

Payments are processed by Stripe or another payment provider we designate. By purchasing, you authorize us and our payment provider to charge your selected payment method for recurring fees if you choose a subscription.

5. Billing, Renewal, and Cancellation

Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly, as selected) until you cancel.

You can manage or cancel your subscription through your account billing settings or the payment provider’s customer portal, where available. Cancellation stops future renewals; you generally keep access until the end of the current paid period unless otherwise stated at purchase.

Except where required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable. If a charge fails, we may suspend Pro access until payment succeeds.

6. License to Use Content

We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use Skill Maps content for your own learning.

You may not copy, redistribute, sell, sublicense, publicly display, scrape, or create derivative works from our courses, quizzes, or other materials for commercial purposes without our prior written consent. You may not share account access or Pro credentials with others.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including by attempting unauthorized access, disrupting the platform, uploading malware, harassing others, or using the Service to violate any law.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe create risk for Skill Maps, other users, or third parties.

8. Intellectual Property

Skill Maps, including its branding, site design, curricula, and software, is owned by Skill Maps or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership of any intellectual property to you.

Feedback you send us may be used to improve the Service without obligation to you.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service may rely on third parties (for example payment processing, authentication, hosting, or analytics). Their terms and privacy practices apply to their services. We are not responsible for third-party websites or services beyond our reasonable control.

10. Disclaimers

The Service and all content are provided “as is” and “as available.” Educational materials are for general learning purposes and do not guarantee employment, certification by third parties, or specific outcomes.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Skill Maps and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for the Service in the twelve (12) months before the claim, or (b) €50, except where liability cannot be limited under applicable law.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and may delete your account where that option is available. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the Service.

Sections that by their nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) will survive termination.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where Skill Maps operates its primary business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence require otherwise.

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
