: When Speed Becomes a Ranking Factor

For a long time, website speed was perceived merely as a " checkbox " in a technical audit. But in 2021, Google officially introduced Core Web Vitals (CWV) as a ranking factor. Google no longer measures an abstract " time to first byte. " It measures the User Experience.

Analogy (Restaurant): Imagine you arrive at a restaurant.

  1. How quickly did they bring you the menu? ()
  2. Did someone try to pull the chair out from under you as you were sitting down? ()
  3. How quickly did the waiter respond when you raised your hand? () If even one aspect fails, you'll leave a bad tip. Google evaluates websites the exact same way.

Site Architecture and URL Structure

A logical site structure helps users navigate and distributes link equity between pages. The closer a page is to the homepage, the more important it is.

Case Study Example

Important products were buried 5 clicks away from the homepage. They were moved to the main menu (1 click away), and sales increased.

Real Life Example

A site's structure is the layout of a supermarket. Milk is in the back, fresh bread is at the entrance. Everything should be logical and accessible.
